Patti Hewlett, NSA

Patti Hewlett has a B.A. from Rice University where she took a wide spectrum of art classes. She later earned her Masters in Clinical Social Work at the University of Houston. She currently paints full time and has started Art School By The Bay where she teaches, does art retreats and does workshops conducted by a variety of other artists .She was president of National Society of Artists in 2001. She has studied for the last 18 years with numerous local and national trainers in watercolor and acrylics, which remain her major mediums. She has won many honors for her watercolors. She is interested in strong color, water scenes, and lately experimental painting which she refers to as "quantum art" (you'll have to ask her about that one). She makes art cards as well as working in larger formats (including murals) and enjoys pouring and texturing with paints. Patti especially likes teaching beginning art students and classes for the non artist. Other classes include art quilts, fused glass and dichroic class jewelry techniques. She lives and works in Bayview, Texas.
